Mount Vernon Football Game photos Fundraiser
Rubicon Photo annouces Mount Vernon Mustang Football Fundraiser. If you are a fan on Mustang Football here is an opportunity to help raise money for the team expenses and for you to have memorable images of your player and other hightlights from this season. The process is simple, but you must hurry to take advantage of this offer. To be “vested” in the program you must purchase one $50 photo gift card for yourself or as a gift for relatives. By doing this the team gets 10% of the sale and you get a 10% print bonus toward more photos. Hurry though you must be vested by the first Home game Sept 3rd. 2010. You can purchase more cards throughout the season but you must have bought one by the Maquoketa game.
There is a money back gaurantee on these cards. If you player unfortantely gets injured, weather does not allow us to shoot the games we are planning on, or simply I just don’t get good photos of your player, we will refund your investment.
You can order the normal reprints like 4×6, 5×7, 8x10s etc, but think beyond that into special digital collages, and printing on all kinds of materials like metal, gallery mounts, but we can do water bottles, coffee mugs, t-shirts, jig saw puzzels.
Please call us for more details and the photo agreement.

New – Old prop arrives today at Rubicon Photo
Well sometimes things just fall into place, while photographing a 1913 Model T and his very cool Viper for Jim Anderson this weekend of Anderson Racing and Anderson Automotive in Marion ( FYI we highly recommend them for your vehicles by the way) found out he just acquired this vintage truck and he needed a resting place for it until it makes it up his to do list, so now we have this very cool looking vintage 1947 Dodge Truck strategically located in our outdoor studio. This should be a fun prop for High School Seniors who seemed to have acquired an affinity for the vintage cars. For some reason I could not get a similar arrangement with Jim for the Dodge Viper! LOL

Professional Photographers of Iowa Print Competition
I told myself that one of my New Year’s aspirations was to start blogging and utilize the cool website that my good friend Bob Randklev of Cyber Innovations helped create for me…well since this is my first Blog of 2010, I am off to a slow start, but at least I am getting started.
In this post is my first set of competition prints that I submitted to Professional Photographers of Iowa February 6th. I was awarded an honorable mention score of 82 (out of 100) on his photo entitled Anton Family, this photo was also designated by the judge’s first place in non master group’s outdoors category. I also scored another distinguished print ranking of 80 on his print Frosty Moon, a honorable mention of 78 on Winter Solitude ( photo with single tree in it) , and a 74 on Stop The Train, all of these prints scored high enough to be displayed at the convention. There were over 430 prints entered into this competition. I have submitted these prints again to the regional Professional Photographers of American competition in Wisconsin the weekend of February 27th. He also received special recognition for third place for his portrait of Michael Boone of Marion, IA in the Mr. Photogenic contest.
I feel very blessed to receive this recognition for my first entries, and has given me momentum toward a goal I set for myself about 2 years ago to work toward my “Master” photography degree which is reaching a combination of merits from print competition and continuing education or service merits. My first year’s goal was to become a Certified Professional Photography which I achieved by passing a test, and having my images judge by members of Professional Photographers of America. Only 3 % of photographers make the effort to become Certfifed Professionals. I will have reached half my goal by this time next year by having my service merits achieved by this time next year. I am also currently serving as the President of the NE Iowa Professional Photographers.
