It was a beautiful Iowa fall day for the 20th Anniversary of the Especially For You Cancer Walk sponsored by Mercy Medical Center and General Mills and supported by many other businesses. It was great to be a part of this event for the last 5 years, this year I came up with this idea to capture the cancer survivors for this special year. While this is the first time I attempted writing something with people, thanks to Michelle, Karen, and Rebecca from EFY/MMC it came out awesome. It is time for Friday night lights and that means it my favorite time of year–FALL, well at least normally it is. Football season starting a week early this season makes it a hot start to the season. Rubicon Photo annouces Mount Vernon Mustang Football Fundraiser. If you are a fan on Mustang Football here is an opportunity to help raise money for the team expenses and for you to have memorable images of your player and other hightlights from this season. The process is simple, but you must hurry to take advantage of this offer. To be “vested” in the program you must purchase one $50 photo gift card for yourself or as a gift for relatives. By doing this the team gets 10% of the sale and you get a 10% print bonus toward more photos. Hurry though you must be vested by the first Home game Sept 3rd. 2010. You can purchase more cards throughout the season but you must have bought one by the Maquoketa game.

There is a money back gaurantee on these cards. If you player unfortantely gets injured, weather does not allow us to shoot the games we are planning on, or simply I just don’t get good photos of your player, we will refund your investment.

Mt Vernon VBS 2010

Another hot July and another great week at VBS with the kids of Mt Vernon. This years Groups VBS has me busy taking pictures of the “crews” as they go from station to station, but my primary gig is taking the Spotlight Video during games but that just does not cover it so here is a link to my first “bonus” feature of photos that show some of the behind the scene set up of VBS and a few other fun photos. Groups VBS is using SmileBox so I am using that service for these videos.

Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market

It was a fantastic day for another Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market. It is great to see so many people take advantage of the Market and support local businesses. I enjoy capturing the Farmers Market for the Downtown District, who coordinate these events, full of entertainment like the Eastern Iowa Brass Band plus, you can find out information about area non-profits. The kids seem to have a blast especailly those lucky enough to get a balloon animal from Pappa Ballon–not your run of the mill balloon animals mind you. Another treat is getting a now famous “Primo Burrito ” from Victor’s Place , the line for these is long, but moves fast; Another cool thing about going to the Farmers Markets is running into friends/clients and catching up on news. Anyways check out some highlight photos of the day.
